Aloyse Design is a women-owned design‑build practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We carry a home from the first drawing through construction to the last detail of its interior, under one name.

Adapting good taste and functional design principles to your style, not ours. Between us we bring fine art training, board-certified interior design, certified project management, and real estate consulting to every project.

Ground-up construction, managed end to end: site, permits, structure, and schedule held to a standard worth putting our name on.
Renovations
Additions and whole-home remodels that respect what a house already is while making it work for the way you live now.
Interiors
Board-certified interior design. Space planning, materials, and finishes are resolved with the same rigor as the framing behind them.

Owned and operated by women named Aloyse
Aloyse Bick Heiss Culver McShane opened the practice in St. Louis, Missouri in 1950. It is a legacy passed through three generations of women who carry the name Aloyse, and it now builds from Chapel Hill. Seventy-five years of that means the judgment to tell you what a project really takes, and the record to back it up.

Aloyse Brown
Trained as a fine artist (MFA, Pratt Institute; BFA, San Francisco Art Institute) before two decades of running projects and portfolios. PMP certification is the project-management standard for scope, schedule, and cost: what it takes to deliver a project on time and on budget.
